From November 2-4, 2015, Zhejiang Radio and Television University (Zhejiang RTVU) launched the 2015 new tutors training programme for all tutors in the provincial RTVU system, with 110 front-line tutors from the province's RTVU system participating.
The purpose of the training is to help the new tutors in the provincial system understand the operating rules and characteristics of the RTVUs, learn relevant theories of distance education and adult education, be aware of the responsibilities and requirements of the RTVU tutors, and become competent RTVU tutors as soon as possible. Trainees who met the requirements of the training were issued training certificates.
Vice President of Zhejiang RTVU Lu Fang pointed out during the opening ceremony that the establishment of the credit bank for lifelong education and the Open University for Older Adults in Zhejiang province were milestones in the transformation of Zhejiang RTVU and marked a great step forward. As an RTVU tutor, one must have clear work targets and ensure a smooth transformation so as to adapt to the basic characteristics of RTVU teaching, including the openness of teaching objects and curriculum resources and the diversity of learning styles. He stressed that the history of Zhejiang RTVU is one of pioneering, innovative, and pragmatic processes. He hoped that the new tutors could think, practise, continue to adapt new technologies and new knowledge, improve their abilities through teaching reforms in their work, and become excellent RTVU tutors.
During the training meeting, relevant personnel in charge of HR, educational administration, scientific research, resources, information, and other departments delivered separate reports on the RTVU system, the assessment of professional technical posts, learning resource construction, teaching management and teaching services, academic papers writing and research projects application, and the planning, construction, and practices of the digitization of the RTVU system, which was targeted and operable training for all new tutors. During the exchange link portion of the training, outstanding tutors, and representatives of outstanding class tutors shared their work experiences with the new tutors.
