Recently, Shiyan RTVU (Education School) in Hubei province and Shiyan Municipal Federation of Trade Unions entered into negotiations and decided to open the junior college and undergraduate degree studies to model workers in the autumn of 2015. RMB120,000 will be contributed voluntarily by Shiyan RTVU (Education School) to help model workers enhance their academic and skill levels.
The quota for the degree studies is 20 persons who should be model workers at municipal level or National May 1st Labor Medal winners. The admission requirements for junior college programmes should be above high school graduation and junior college diploma qualification recognized by the Chinese educational system for the undergraduate programmes. There is no examination for enrollment. The programmes available are Business Administration, Administrative Management at both junior college and undergraduate levels with a duration of 2.5 years. Enrollment is open from August 15 to 30.
The studies will be taught in the blended form of modern online teaching and face-to-face teaching (concentrated on weekends). The students’ self-directed learning occupies the majority of the learning process, and all the studies and examinations will be completed at the headquarters of Shiyan RTVU (Education School). After completion of the two and a half years study and with results up to standard, the students will be granted the junior college or undergraduate graduation certificate from the Open University of China (former China Central Radio & TV University) which will be electronically registered in the record of the Ministry of Education. Those who have reached the standard for the academic degrees will also be awarded degree certificates.
