The first batch of students from School of Tourism of OCT East of Shenzhen Radio &Television University(RTVU)performing arts major (dance performance orientation) graduated recently. All the graduates participated in the performance of a new version of “Tianshan” in the main theatre of Shenzhen OCT East on June 25, 2015. A graduation performance, with the theme of“Years Pass Like Songs”, was also held, showcasing the RTVU students’ skill and style.
In April 2010, Shenzhen RTVU and Shenzhen OCT East Co., Ltd. founded the School of Tourism of OCT East of Shenzhen RTVU, a school ran in an enterprise with the aim of providing a channel for the development of the enterprise’s employees. In 2012, Shenzhen OCT East Co., Ltd. required greater training for the dancers in its art troupe. Shenzhen RTVU actively coordinated and contacted the relevant parties. With the support of the Open University of China (OUC), in spring 2013, the OUC’s performing arts major(dance performance orientation) started to enroll members of the art troupe of Shenzhen OCT East Co., Ltd. A total of 56 students were enrolled, all of whom were in-house actors from around the country. All of the actors had a background in art education at technical secondary school or higher vocational school level, and strong dance performance skills; however, they needed to enhance their professional and theoretical skills.
Mr. Yan Bing, Vice President of the OUC, attended the opening performances and delivered a speech. He pointed out that the students had spent three years as both actors and students, which would be a meaningful part of their career and life experience. After three years’ of study, the students have obtained their university degrees and diplomas, but more importantly, they have enhanced their personal quality and ability, which will give them better prospects in their future life and career.
Mr. Liu Ying, President and Party Secretary of Shenzhen RTVU, pointed out during the show that the opening of the performing arts major(dance performance orientation) was an important exploration of the new model and initiative of running schools under a university-enterprise cooperative pattern within the OUC framework, which provided a platform for employees in the enterprises to upgrade their professional quality and cultural level, as well as stabilizing the employees. He hopes that the students will set higher goals for themselves and pursuit their art more persistently. He said that Shenzhen RTVU would further strengthen cooperation with Shenzhen OCT East Co., Ltd. in order to serve the enterprises better and, under the guidance of the OUC, train more employees for Shenzhen OCT East Co., Ltd.
