On November 12, 2014, Fujian Radio and TV University (Fujian RTVU) held the 2nd Micro-Teaching Contest Finals. Luckily, after going through many levels of selection, 20 contestants were selected as finalists among 1,746 participants from the local RTVU system in Fujian Province.

In comparison with the 1st micro-teaching contest, contestants in this contest had significantly improved their presentation level and were more familiar with the micro-teaching methods. Most of the contestants presented their courses in a cordial and relaxed teaching manner while at the same time delivering rich contents and teaching in a brisk and lively way. In addition, this contest also introduced the "Micro RTVU" public service platform of Fujian RTVU in order to organize the contest. The platform provides “meeting attendance”, “live contest show”, and other functions, making it easy, convenient, and accommodating for participants. The platform also corresponds to the concept of "micro-teaching, micro-service" advocated by the contest. After several rounds of fierce competition, Sang Hailing and three other teachers won the first prize, Zhang Lianzhu and five other teachers won the second prize, Qiu Yue and ten other teachers won the third prize.

Vice president of Fujian RTVU Zhanhong pointed out that since April 2012, when the 1st contest of micro-teaching was held, the local RTVUs in Fujian Province have gradually become more aware of the "micro" concept in distance education. As the university is undergoing transformation and upgrading, acquiring excellent basic teaching skills to help adapt to the new media environment is an inherent requirement of RTVU teachers. The university attaches great importance to the development of the professional skills of all teachers, and adheres to the concept of “promoting the teaching skills through contests, and fostering the construction of micro-teaching through contests", hoping to drive the teaching work through the micro-teaching biennial contest, and give an impetus to the transformation and development of the university, as well as its presence in society.

Statistics show that the Fujian RTVU has recorded 886 series of micro-courses, which cover film studies, tax accounting, general education, and 163 other subjects. The contents of the courses cover a number of majors and training programmes, including degree and non-degree education. These resources are available to all citizens without cost through online lifelong learning platform and other platforms and applications via their mobile phone or computers.

Since 2012, many branch campuses of Fujian RTVU and its working platforms have responded positively to the construction of the micro-course. Their is a strong desire to continue to further advance micro-course education. For the 1st micro-teaching contest, there were a total 1,000 contestants, whereas for this 2nd contest, the total number of participants reached 1,746, with full participation in the contest.
