On November 4, students of Chongqing's first community school - Street Community School at Yuzhou Road - showed off their paper-cutting works at the national opening ceremony for the 2014 Lifelong Learning Activity Week in the Yuzhong District of Chongqing. At the ceremony, the vivid images of celebrities, magpies, galloping horses, and other works showed the learning outcomes that the students gained in the community schools.
The paper-cutting work show of the street community school at Yuzhou Road is just a microcosm of Chongqing Radio and TV University's (Chongqing RTVU) achievements in promoting lifelong learning and learning-type urban construction. At the street community school at Yuzhou Road, Shiqiaopu Campus of Chongqing RTVU, in addition to paper-cutting, community residents can also learn dancing, vocal music, computers, photography, Chinese painting, and tai chi. Young ones in the community can also attend a "white collar class" after school to learn etiquette and cultural differences between China and foreign countries. Apart from these, the school also opened a finance class to teach financial knowledge to community residents. On the weekends, the school also holds "Yuzhou Forum" and "Yuzhou Theater" for community residents.
