46 works received awards in the recently concluded Happy Community photo contest, open to the residents of communities of Sichuan province and hosted by Sichuan RTVU. The activity was aimed at putting socialist core values with Chinese characteristics into practice, showcasing the happy life in harmonious communities, offering an innovative experience for community education, and boosting community education of the Sichuan RTVU system.

Sichuan RTVU highly publicized the Happy Community photo contest, which was launched during the second half of 2013. An organizing committee was selected for the contest, with university leaders acting as members of the organizing committee. Several specialists in the field of photography,  both from within and from outside of the university, were specially invited to form an expert review group. Sichuan RTVU also opened a special column for the works of the photo contest at Sichuan Community Education Network to exhibit the submissions.

The provincial RTVU system zealously promoted and managed this contest. The RTVUs at municipal and county levels organized special personnel to go into communities to encourage residents to create excellent photograph works, using photos to record their colorful and distinctive community activities. The submissions highlighted the splendid life in the harmonious communities and their distinctive community cultures. 190 unique submissions were collected due to the enthusiastic participation of the residents.

Through expert review, 93 pieces were chosen from the total works entered. All the submissions were exhibited in the special column for photo works on Happy Community at Sichuan Community Education Network for one month, giving the public a chance to vote on them. After voting, the expert review group evaluated the works. The organizing committee comprehensively evaluated the results of the expert reviews and the results of the online vote and selected works for awards at all levels. Among them, the three pieces including New Trends in Community, Life is Colorful, and Warm Homeland were awarded the first prize. Six pieces including the Joyful Lantern Festival were awarded the second prize. 15 works, including Happy Days are Prosperous were awarded the third prize. 22 works including Booming Days won the excellence awards. Panzhihua RTVU, Ziyang RTVU, Neijiang RTVU, and Fushun Branch of Zigong RTVU won the organization awards separately.
