On May 13th, Xi’an RTVU launched the 2014 online training for cadre education in Xi’an. The first spring session demonstration class for cadres supervised by Xi’an municipal government also opened at the same time.
There were more than 60 trainees in the demonstration class. They were mainly cadres from relative departments at the municipal level or from subordinate districts and counties. It was the first time for them to take part in online training for cadre education.
They will use their spare time to sign in to the website Xi’an Cadre Education Online to learn the latest theories in politics, economy, society, and law by listening to lectures from professors associated with Party School of the Central Committee of CPC, Chinese Academy of Governance, Peking University, and Tsinghua University. They will also receive special lectures entitled Building Xi’an to be an International Metropolis, Five Great Construction, and Construction of Silk Road Economic Belt. The class will last for 3 months, with the aim of helping the cadres supervised by municipal government to comprehensively improve their own qualities, intensify media sense, skillfully use information technology, and apply new theories, knowledge, and techniques to real-world solutions so as to make a greater contribution to the continued healthy integrated development of Xi'an's society and economy.
Attendees of the ceremony included Tian Zhoumin, Deputy Director of Xi’an Municipal Organization Department and Director of Cadre Education Office of Xi’an Municipal Committee and Secretary of the Working Committee of Party Construction of Non-public Economy Organization in Xi’an city, Wang Qinghua, Deputy Director of Cadre Education Office of Xi’an Municipal Committee, Yang Xinzhou, Party Secretary of Xi’an RTVU, relative leaders of the Cadre Education Department of Municipal Organization Department, and all of the trainees from this demonstration class. Vice President of Xi’an RTVU Song Jun presided over the ceremony.
Yang Xinzhou reviewed the web-based training work for cadre education in previous years. Since 2008, Xi’an RTVU has trained a total of 22,377 cadres. Over the last six years, Xi’an RTVU has continuously optimized platform functions of Xi’an Cadre Education Online, combining high-end technology with local resources to create a strong class adviser team that is politically reliable, professionally competent, and able to offer excellent service. There has also been a concerted effort at “class management methods based on the integration of web and reality”, fully utilizing the advantage of online training so that “everyone can learn anywhere and anytime”. The training effect was obviously enhanced, and the activity was also approved and praised by all walks of life.
Tian Zhoumin hoped that, based on a consideration of the real situation of Xi’an, Xi’an RTVU would be able to reinforce training effectiveness and purpose, further enrich training contents, set a scientifically sound curriculum, strengthen management, and provide good services. At the same time, in study progression management, improvements could be made in integrating qualitative and quantitative factors, a more comprehensive understanding of trainee learning, providing learning results feedback to all relative units, problem resolution, and continuing to perfect the “Xi’an Model” of web-based training for cadre education. He also hoped that the trainees in this class could cherish this chance to “learn to think and learn to make great achievements so as to be worthy of the expectations of the organization."
The ceremony also included skill training for the learning platform of “Xi’an Cadre Education Online”. The training was presented on-site and explained the teaching plan and operating techniques in detail via PPT presentation with text and graphics.
