On 11 September 2024, the Open University of China (OUC, also known as Seniors University of China, SUC) invited Guo Guangcan, founder of the quantum information in China, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), to give a science lecture on "Magic Quantum World" to the students from the OUC, SUC, and students of Hangtian Tuqiang Primary School located in Haidian District, Beijing.

On 21 August 2024, the ASEAN-China Digital Education Alliance (referred to as the Alliance) held its annual conference for the year in Guizhou. According to the Chinese Ministry of Education (MOE), a reporter from People’s Daily stated that the Lifelong Education Platform of the Open University of China (OUC), with over 6.8 million registered users, has served nearly 60 million visits from lifelong learners across over 200 countries and regions worldwide since its launch in May 2022.

Recently, the Ministry of Education announced the first batch of 18 case studies showcasing "Artificial Intelligence + Higher Education" application scenarios.
