OUC leaders and distinguished guests
A number of distinguished guests were in attendance at the press conference, including Hao Keming, president of the Chinese Society for Educational Development Strategy; Gao Shiqi, former secretary-general of the Central Organization Department; professor Liu Yanshen, deputy director of the National Engineering Research Center for E-learning; professor Yan Jichang, leader of National Universities Cooperation Group; professor Li Defang, secretary-general of the National Networked Consortium for the Education of Teachers; Zhang Shuanggu, vice president and secretary-general of the Chinese Society for Educational Development Strategy; Feng Xuefei, president of Tianjin RTVU (the OUC Tianjin Branch); Yang Zhijian, president of the OUC; Li Ling, the OUC Party secretary; and Yan Bing and Li Linshu, the vice presidents of the OUC. Deputy Secretary of the OUC Party Committee Zhang Shaogang hosted the press conference.
The OUC also announced its six major achievements since its establishment in 2012 at the press conference: the OUC bilingual portal, the Five-Minute Lecture Website (http://wfz.nerc-edu.com/default.aspx), the Little Village Official Learning Website (http://www.cunguan-edu.cn/FrontEnd/VillageOfficial/index.aspx), the Research and Development Centre for the Integration and Application of Digital Learning Technologies, Ministry of Education, the OUC Arts School, and The Research Report on the Development of Distance Higher Education in China (2012). At the same time, the OUC also arranged the Second Teaching Technology Application Exhibition and a Weibo debate with the theme of “Will MOOCs replace traditional education?”
