The OUC’s iTunes U channel was officially launched on February 1, 2013. More than 30 free open courses have been uploaded, providing Chinese teaching and cultural resources for learners both at home and abroad.

The courses include phonetics, Chinese characters, Chinese language courses and Chinese culture appreciation courses. The resources are available for download or subscription through iTunes U App.

Designed by Apple Inc. in 2007, iTunes U is a channel within the iTunes Store featuring educational content from over 500 universities worldwide, including Stanford University, Yale University, MIT, University of Oxford and University of California-Berkeley. Four mainland Chinese universities have already uploaded iTunes U courses, including the OUC and Sun Yat-Sen University.

In opening its iTunes U channel, the OUC has drawn on international experience, aiming to promote the spread of Chinese culture worldwide, as well as the OUC’s core “Open and International” concept.
