Weixian County, 29 June 2025 - The "Healthy and Happy China Tour" series of the Seniors University of China (SUC) was successfully held in Weixian County, Hebei Province.

The event was attended by FAN Xianrui, Vice President of the Open University of China (OUC) and SUC; XU Aixin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Hebei Open University; WANG Dan, Deputy Director of Technology Transfer Department of the Guangzhou Laboratory; CUI Yaopeng, Secretary of the Weixian County Committee of the Communist Party of China; and GAO Yun, Deputy County Head of Weixian County People's Government. Jointly organised by SUC and Guangzhou Laboratory, the event was hosted by Weixian Open University. It was live-streamed by SUC and the People's Daily, attracting over 580,000 online viewers.

Free Medical Consultation Services

Three medical experts from Beijing delivered health science popularisation lectures in simple and comprehensible language and provided one-on-one free medical consultation services for more than 100 senior learners. On the morning of 28 June, the three experts also conducted proactive health science popularisation lectures and free medical consultation services in Gu'an County, Hebei Province.

During the event, the OUC Education Foundation and Weixian Open University held the Signing Ceremony of the “Huiling Seniors’ Culture Hub” project. The OUC Library donated more than 1,100 books to Weixian Open University.

The event disseminated knowledge of proactive health, promoted the extension of elderly education to the primary level, enhanced the well-being of the elderly, and actively implemented the concept of “protecting health through education.”
