To thoroughly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important exposition on education, especially his significant speech at the National Conference on Education and the spirit of the conference, and to execute the "1234 Strategy" of the Open University of China (OUC), a special training session on document processing, meeting organising, and task performing was held by the Party and Administration Office of the OUC on the morning of 31 October 2024.

With the theme of "Dedicated Document Processing, Meeting Organising, and Task Performing for Serving the High-Quality Development of the University", the training aimed to enhance scientific, standardised, and efficient administrative management, and improve the level and contribution of governance with the assistance of documents. Liu Xuanxuan, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of the OUC, attended and delivered the opening speech, while vice president Zhou Tianming presented a thematic report. The session was chaired by Cui Keli, director of the Party and Administration Office.

Liu Xuanxuan emphasised that the ability to process documents, organise meetings, and perform tasks is an important guarantee for serving the high-quality development of the university. She stressed that one should be able to "write" when sitting down, "speak" when standing up, and "perform" when going out. She highlighted the importance of maintaining three "mindsets" to foster a deep sense of responsibility, develop three "ways of thinking" to serve as a competent and helpful advisor, and master three "aspects" to hone comprehensive and systematic implementation capabilities. She encouraged participants to adhere to practical realities for standardised document processing, tightly conform to the actual needs to organise meetings in alignment with regulations, and employ effective strategies for efficient task performing, thus becoming pioneers in document processing, meeting organising, and task performing to boost the university's high-quality development.

Zhou Tianming, focusing on "The Crafting and Refining of Manuscripts", combined his rich experience with the actual work of the university to explain the methods of high-quality document writing in a profound yet accessible manner. He emphasised that comprehensive documents in Party and government organs are important carriers for implementing central decision-making and deployment and are important means for exercising leadership and providing guidance.

Nearly 200 people from various departments and affiliated enterprises of the OUC participated in the training, which aroused enthusiastic responses. It is reported that subsequent sessions of the special training on document processing, meeting organising, and task performing will be held successively to further promote the high-quality development of the OUC.
