On 20 September 2024, the "An Ode to New China, Forging Ahead in the New Era" singing performance event celebrating the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China was held in Beijing.

Guo Wenqi, deputy secretary of the Working Committee of the Central and State Organs in charge of daily operations, attended the event.

The event was hosted by the Working Committee of the Central and State Organs and organised by the Trade Union Federation of the Central and State Organs and the Party Committee of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism (MCT). Sixteen choral teams from various departments of the central and state organs, along with the Central and State Organs Retired Cadres Choir and the China Media Group Galaxy Youth TV Art Troupe, delivered outstanding performances.

In the singing competition (Ping'anli area) among central and state organs, held in July 2024 as part of the 75th-anniversary celebrations, the Open University of China (OUC) choir, representing the Ministry of Education (MOE), won first prize. At this performance event, the OUC choir, representing the MOE, passionately performed "Defend the Yellow River" for the audience. The powerful and nuanced singing paid tribute to the revolutionary forebears and celebrated the great achievements of New China over the past 75 years. The performance expressed profound love and heartfelt blessings for the motherland and demonstrated the strong sense of mission within the education sector to take "building a leading country in education" as the foundation for "building a great country and achieving national rejuvenation."

Leaders of the Working Committee of the Central and State Organs, relevant officials from the MCT, and over 900 representatives from the Party Committees, trade unions, and staff of various departments of the central and state organs attended the event. Wu Yi, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of the MOE, and Liu Xuanxuan, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of the OUC, watched the performance.

In recent years, under the strong leadership of the MOE's Party Leading Group, the Party organisations and mass organisations at all levels within the MOE have thoroughly studied and implemented Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. They have also implemented General Secretary Xi Jinping's important discourses on education and spiritual civilisation construction, continuously promoting mass cultural activities, and vigorously fostering a united, harmonious, and vibrant atmosphere within the organs. These efforts have further consolidated the momentum for accelerating the progress of building a leading country in education.
