To propel rural education revitalisation and the endeavour of revitalising rural areas through education, consolidate the gains of educational poverty alleviation, intensify educational support, bolster the teaching force in Butuo County, and elevate the professional competencies and teaching quality of all-subject primary school teachers, the Open University of China (OUC) launched its training programme for all-subject primary school teachers in Butuo County on 14 July 2024.
Li Ruifu, vice dean of the Rural Revitalisation College at the OUC, attended the opening ceremony remotely and delivered a speech. He Qian, head of the Teacher Training Department at the Liangshan Prefecture Education and Sports Bureau, Peng Guangxiu, Associate Professor at Xichang National Minority Normal College for Preschool Teachers, relevant staff from the Butuo County Teacher Development Centre, and 60 all-subject primary school teachers participated in the event.
Li Ruifu outlined the OUC's educational operations, the context of its support for education in Butuo, and the progress of related initiatives, setting forth expectations and requirements for the trainees.
He Qian, on behalf of the Liangshan Prefecture Education and Sports Bureau, expressed gratitude to the OUC for its support towards ethnic education in Butuo County. She emphasised the importance of heightened awareness, strict adherence to discipline, diligent study, and the pursuit of professional advancement among all trainees during the programme.

Wu Min, the class advisor for this training programme, elucidated the training plan and underscored the importance of training discipline.
This training was organised and executed by the Butuo County Education, Sports, and Science and Technology Bureau, with design assistance and support from the OUC. Employing a variety of methods including expert lectures, case-based teaching, interactive discussions, and school visits, the programme offers a rich and diverse curriculum. It aims to further enhance the professional capabilities and teaching standards of the participating teachers, infusing fresh impetus into the thriving development of Butuo's educational sector.
