On 7 September 2023, the OUC Education Foundation held an event in Shigatse, Xizang Autonomous Region, marking their donation to Saga County. This generous contribution aims to promote rural revitalisation through education in the region.

Zheng Jie, the secretary-general of the OUC Education Foundation, and Cirenwangla, deputy secretary of the County Party Committee and County Mayor, formalized their collaboration by signing a donation agreement. Ju Chuanjin, chairman of the OUC Education Foundation, presented Cirenwangla with a donation check. This generous donation comprises 1,000 digital readers valued at 1 million RMB. These devices will be entrusted to the Education Bureau of Saga to facilitate the establishment of electronic reading rooms in both elementary and high schools throughout Saga. The primary aim is to bolster the advancement of rural education in the county. This significant event was observed by prominent figures including Li Yuhui from the Division of Teaching and Quality, Department of Vocational and Adult Education, Ministry of Education (MOE), and Lai Yongjian, deputy secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and executive deputy mayor of Shigatse, along with other officials.

Ju Chuanjun stated that the donation was organised and carried out under the guidance of the Party leadership and the Department of Vocational and Adult Education of the MOE. With strong support from the Rural Revitalisation College and the Learning Resources Department of OUC, the aim was to assist the Xizang Region in maintaining and building upon the gains from the anti-poverty campaign and to transition smoothly towards rural transformation. Each donated reader comes with 100 pre-loaded electronic books and journals tailored for elementary and high school students, along with complimentary access to a wealth of additional material.

Cirenwangla expressed his gratitude for the donation. He stated that it would fulfill the reading needs of teachers and students in Saga's compulsory education phase. Moreover, he believes it will play a significant role in elevating the educational standards of the county at this stage.

Li Yuhui mentioned that Saga County has formed a partnership with the MOE as part of the initiative to foster collaboration and assistance between eastern and western regions. For the MOE, aiding Saga County in establishing electronic reading rooms is a priority. This contribution will bolster the development of electronic reading rooms in Saga, addressing the existing shortfall in these facilities at schools offering compulsory education. This move is crucial in elevating the digitalisation of compulsory education in the county. It will not only foster holistic development and well-being of the students but will also enhance the overall education quality in Saga.

Lai Yongjian stated, the donation aims to address the shortcomings and bolster areas of weakness in the teaching conditions in Shigatse. It will enhance the digital teaching infrastructure in Saga, promote the sharing of high-quality educational resources, and assist students in successfully completing their education. It is our hope that the beneficiary schools will value these resources, utilize the equipment effectively, and nurture the next generation of talent. These young minds will play a pivotal role in the great rejuvenation of our Chinese nation and will, in turn, contribute to society through outstanding achievements.
