From 17th to 21st April 2023, the Open University of China (OUC) organised a full-time training programme in Xiamen for teachers of accounting and financial management, aimed at developing a team of "dual-qualification" teachers, promoting industry-education integration, enhancing practical skills of teachers in related majors, and supporting the construction of a digital university.
The training programme was hosted by the OUC Department of Student Affairs and Teacher Development and implemented by the Faculty of Economics and Management. A total of 28 outstanding teachers from OUC headquarters and branches participated in the programme.
Throughout the 3-day training, the participating teachers underwent a comprehensive study of two courses: "Python Application in Finance" and "RPA Application in Finance".
The training programme also included a visit to benchmark enterprises, where participating teachers had the opportunity to visit the Netinnet Digital Finance Talent Training Base and gain a deeper understanding of the company's digital transformation and practical experience. Through exchanges and discussions, the teachers were able to explore the current digital transformation paths and talent training programmes of accounting majors, as well as relevant issues related to the digital transformation of these majors. The visit created a positive atmosphere for interaction and collaboration.
The "dual-qualification" teacher training programme has enhanced the connection between teachers of related majors within the OUC education system, improved the digital literacy of the teaching team, and further advanced the high-quality development of accounting and financial management majors.
