On 17 April 2023, a delegation led by Professor Li Kam-cheong from Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) visited the Open University of China (OUC).
A symposium was held to promote exchange and communication with the delegation. Fan Xianrui, vice president of the OUC, attended the symposium along with personnel responsible for different OUC departments.
Fan extended her warm welcome to Professor Li and his entourage. She said the OUC is dedicated to promoting cooperation among higher education institutions, as well as building a platform for international exchange and enhancing the university’s overall quality. The OUC and HKMU have maintained close cooperation and a strong partnership. She emphasized the latest progress that the OUC has made in international exchange and cooperation, as well as new practices in the digitalisation of education. Both sides are now expected to strengthen cooperation in digitalisation and academic research to achieve a win-win result.
Professor Li said the OUC is one of HKMU’s most important partners, and extensive cooperation is still expected between the two parties. He said he hoped cooperation could be further bolstered to promote the implementation of more projects.
At the symposium, Professor Li also introduced an academic report titled “Coping with the Challenges of Changes in the Macro Environment : HKMU’s Strategy.”
