On the morning of 15th April 2023, at 10:00 am, the "OUC Open Lectures • National Security Education Open Course" was broadcasted on China Central Television (CCTV).

On the National Security Education Day of 15th April, the OUC broadcasted its recorded national security education courses throughout the day on CCTV, targeting students from universities across the country, students of OUC, as well as all social learners.

"The OUC Open Lectures on Public Education of National Security, under the guidance of the Department of Ideological and Political Work of the Ministry of Education, is a key promotional and educational activity. In last year's public lecture series, the lectures were viewed over 1.66 million times, and were prominently featured on the homepage of the CCTV app, with over 70,000 comments."

This year's public lectures will focus on non-traditional security topics, covering areas such as international relations, ecological and environmental security, financial security, population security, land security, and information security. These lectures aim to lead the general public to understand the overall concept of national security from a more comprehensive perspective, enhance their awareness and literacy on national security, and strengthen the social foundation for safeguarding the new development pattern with the new security situation.

Since the introduction of the National Security Education Law in 2015, OUC has actively planned a series of courses related to national security education in its the OUC Open Lectures. They have recorded and completed two major themes: national defense education and non-traditional security topics, totaling 24 courses and over 2,000 minutes of lecture time.
