In order to implement the important deployment of deepening the national reading activity as stated in the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, guide the faculty and staff to love reading, read good books, read effectively, inherit the excellent traditional Chinese culture and the advanced socialist culture, inspire the innovation and creativity of the faculty and students, and help promote the high-quality development of the university, the Open University of China (OUC) will launch the Reading Month activities from mid-April to mid-May according to the requirements of the Ministry of Education.

The OUC Party Committee attaches great importance to and has carefully organized the Reading Month activity. The activity is arranged to be rich and varied, with various forms, including a series of book-sharing events recommended by school leaders, a theme essay writing contest on "The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and My Growth Path," a "Reader's Reading" recitation conference, and a series of lectures on reading.

This activity fully leverages the advantages of the digital university, inspiring faculty and students to draw strength and improve their literacy through reading. It provides a platform for sharing and showcasing, creating a strong atmosphere of lifelong reading, and injecting powerful spiritual impetus for the new journey of the OUC and for the high-quality development of the university. This will help build a world-class open university and promote the development of the university in the new era.
