To celebrate the 38th Teachers' Day in China and promote art education at the OUC, the Open University of China (OUC) organised a visit to the Song Art Museum for its staff.
The event was led by the Department of Student Affairs and Teacher Development, the General Office of Party and Administration, the Faculty of Humanities, and the Labour Union, and over 50 members of various departments attended under the guidance of Jing Degang, Party secretary and president of the OUC.
"Soft Touch" and Hegel's "I am us, we are me" were the touchstones of the event, and it linked the works of Xiao Tingting, a teacher in the Faculty of Humanities, with four other famous female artists, in a visual feast that connects their multi-dimensional artistic expressions to these themes.
Ms. Xiao presented each artwork in terms of background and expression, and took questions from the audience, who found their hearts touched and spirits uplifted, and stated that they would integrate their enhanced understanding of art into their teaching.
The event shows the importance the OUC attaches to art education and the professional development of teachers, encouraging them to go out and promote the OUC brand.
