Recently the Open University of China (OUC) held a meeting with branches involved in the pilot use of the "Smart Learning Platform". Personnel from the OUC Information Technology and Learning Resources departments and other staff, including members of project-construction units, attended online, while personnel in charge of academic affairs, teaching, and IT from the pilot branches attended via video links.
In the meeting, the work of autumn 2021 and key timing were reported and reviewed, covering the progress, problems, and prospects of the new network and platform.
A special session was devoted to the project’s resource-sharing and trading, which function as its foundation in terms of resources, promoting efficiency of use, and stimulating their development. In the future, the OUC will provide resources to its students and the public, with training and testing relevant to these preceding full-scale promotion.
Personnel from the pilot branches in Tianjin, Inner Mongolia, Zhejiang, Ningbo, Hubei, Guangzhou, Hainan and Bingtuan, as well as the Experimental School, gave speeches, exchanged experiences, and presented their plans. They also made suggestions related to degree matching, system stability, data accuracy, and dealing with problems the pilot projects have exposed.
"Smart Learning Platform" is essential to the progress of the OUC, and the OUC will continue to build on the two semesters of pilot work undertaken so far, ensuring its wider application and enhanced performance.
