MA Shigong, Salar ethnicity, is a member of the Communist Party of China. He enrolled in the 2020 Village (Community) Cadre Academic and Quality Advancement Programme, majoring in Rural Administrative Management at Qinghai Open University. He is a deputy to the 14th National People's Congress (NPC) and currently serves as Secretary of the Party Branch and Director of the Village Committee of Suhusa Village, Baizhuang Town, Xunhua County, Haidong City, Qinghai Province.
Suhusa Village is a typical "Lamian Village," with over 600 villagers operating lamian (hand-pulled noodle) restaurants across the country. This single bowl of noodles has not only enriched fellow villagers but also broadened their horizons, promoting multi-ethnic cross-regional mobility and interaction, exchange, and integration, creating economic ties and emotional bonds.

MA noted that only when all ethnic groups unite as one can life get better and better. A bowl of lamian connects Han, Zang, Hui, Tu, Salar and other ethnic groups, who help each other, develop together, and form a vivid picture of shared effort and common prosperity. "As the leader of the entire village, my experience as an NPC deputy has made my work direction clearer and my vision broader. Only by getting close to the villagers can I truly discover and solve problems," he said.
At this year's Two Sessions, MA turned his attention to his hometown, recommending continued national-level investment in rural infrastructure. Additionally, he suggested sustained increases in support for specialty industries in ethnic areas, strengthening brands and extending industrial chains, so that development achievements benefit all ethnic groups more extensively and equitably, fostering a stronger sense of identification with the great family of the Chinese nation through tangible benefits.
MA said, "I will bring the voices of the masses and their pressing concerns to the Two Sessions, then I will bring back the good news and policies from the Two Sessions to the grassroots, to every field and farmland."
