WANG Hongmei, Han ethnicity, is a deputy to the 14th National People's Congress (NPC). She enrolled in the 2021 Autumn Administrative Management undergraduate programme at the Open University of Ningde. She currently serves as a senior technician at Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL).

In March 2017, WANG joined CATL as an ordinary technician. The excellent development platform, combined with her outstanding learning capabilities and work performance, enabled her to rapidly grow into an outstanding technical talent in the new energy battery industry.

"How to be a dutiful NPC deputy and live up to the trust of the people—this is what I often ponder." WANG said. High-quality performance of duties begins with learning. Amidst her busy work schedule, WANG actively participates in study sessions, inspections, and research activities organised by people's congresses at various levels, attends local meetings as a non-voting delegate, and systematically studies the Party's innovative theories, laws closely related to people's congress work, and knowledge on deputy duty performance. Additionally, she goes deep into private enterprises and primary-level communities to listen to the voices of the masses and to understand the most authentic needs of industrial workers, which help her actively offer suggestions for promoting private enterprise development, addressing public concerns, and supporting high-quality local development.

As an NPC deputy from the frontline of enterprise, WANG pays close attention to intellectual property rights (IPR) protection. She hopes that procuratorial organs will continue to intensify legal supervision, ground their efforts in regional industrial development layouts, and further deepen comprehensive IPR protection, contributing to optimising the social innovation environment and law-based business environment.

Protecting IPR means protecting innovation and development. Therefore, during this year's Two Sessions, WANG proposes establishing a cross-departmental joint conference system for "Key Industry IPR Protection and Governance", with new energy batteries, new energy vehicles, and other strategic emerging industries included in the first batch of priority categories.
