CHEN Xiaojing, Han ethnicity, currently serves as a deputy to the 14th National People's Congress (NPC) and holds the positions of Secretary of the General Party Branch, and Director of the Villagers’ Committee in Yuantou Village, Yantan Township, Yongjia County, Zhejiang Province. She graduated from Zhejiang Open University in 2024 with an associate degree in Public Administrative Management (Rural Management) and is currently an undergraduate student in the Rural Regional Development programme, enrolled in autumn 2024. In 2021, she was recongised as one of the National Women Pacesetters for Meritorious Service.

CHEN Xiaojing comes from Yuantou Village, Yantan Town, Yongjia County, Zhejiang Province. This is an ancient village with a history spanning over 400 years, named for its location at the source of the Nanxi River.
As a deputy to the National People's Congress, CHEN Xiaojing remained active even on the eve of the session. With the Nanxi River currently making a strong push for national 5A tourist attraction, she made a special trip to Lishui Street for field research. She engaged in in-depth discussions with local official and staff to finalise her proposals concerning the protection and development of the Nanxi River.
During her research, CHEN Xiaojing discovered that the core scenic spot of the Nanxi River, Lishui Street, had successfully revitalised seven idle residential houses. New commercial projects, such as the Wenchang Pavilion and Shuiting Ancestral Hall, have yielded positive results. This provided her with valuable insights, which she has incorporated into her proposals.
CHEN Xiaojing believes that, while adhering to ecological protection, development efforts should be moderately increased and the boundaries between scenic areas and core scenic spots further refined. At the same time, suitable construction spaces within the scenic area should be thoroughly explored to continuously expand the space for high-quality tourism development. It is essential to preserve the “roots” of the original ecology while activating the “soul” of agricultural, cultural and tourism integration, promoting protection through development and pursuing common prosperity across the entire region.
"During the 2025 Spring Festival holiday, the Nanxi River received approximately 1.5 million visitors, with the average daily visitors ranking second in the entire province." CHEN Xiaojing said. No matter how big achievements are, they are all the past. As the 15th Five-Year Plan period approaches, the villagers are fully mobilised, hoping to transform the Nanxi River into a national 5A tourist attraction. "These 300 li of breathtaking landscape are precisely the code for empowering our village and enriching its people!"
During this year's National Two Sessions, CHEN Xiaojing submitted five suggestions, including suggestions on strengthening the protection and utilisation of immovable cultural relics, on supporting the construction of the Jinhua-Lishui-Wenzhou Open Grand Corridor, and on optimising access management for elderly care institutions and exploring the restoration of a classified licensing system.
