Beijing, 2 March — The All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) held a commemorative meeting and Awards Ceremony for International Women's Day in Beijing. DING Xiaomei, a student from Anhui Open University, was honoured as a National March 8th Red-Banner Holder.
Since entering the domestic service industry in 2018, DING has spent seven years leading a traditional domestic service enterprise to the forefront of national standard service industry. Currently, Wansao Domestic Service has established branch offices in 16 prefecture-level cities across Anhui Province, operates 10 directly-managed branches in Hefei, and has expanded into upstream and downstream industry chains including property cleaning, postpartum recovery, childcare services, and labour dispatch, providing comprehensive household services that have earned the trust and acclaim of numerous clients.
Technology Empowerment: Leading Intelligent Transformation in Domestic Services
Amid the digital economy transforming industries across the board, DING keenly recognised technology's reshaping power over the domestic service sector. She led her team in developing the Wansao Smart Domestic Service System, creating an innovative "Internet Plus Domestic Service" model. Multiple projects and practice cases have won honours including the Anhui Province "Artificial Intelligence Plus" Innovation Application Competition Award, the 2025 Anhui Province "AI Plus Commerce" Top Ten Innovation Cases, and the Quality Innovation Achievement Award at the 6th Anhui Province Quality Innovation Skills Competition.
Standardisation Promotion: Cultivating Talent for the Domestic Service Industry
DING and her team focused on pain points and challenges in domestic services, formulating 201 enterprise standards to better manage and control service quality. In 2019, Wansao Domestic Service became the only domestic service enterprise in Anhui Province selected as a national-level service industry standardisation pilot. In 2021, it became the first 4A-level standardised enterprise in China's domestic service industry.
To address talent shortages in the sector, DING founded the Wansao Women's Vocational Training School, offering vocational skills training for domestic workers, childcare providers, and elderly care workers. In 2019, she partnered with Anhui Zhong-Ao Institute of Technology to establish the first domestic service college in Anhui Province—the Zhong-Ao Wansao Domestic Service College. In 2024, she jointly established the Anhui Intelligent Domestic Service Industry-Education Integration Community and Intelligent Domestic Service Modern Industry College with Anhui Open University and Anhui Zhong-Ao Institute of Technology, cultivating more high-quality professional talent for the industry.
Actively Contributing to Social Welfare
Under DING's leadership, the enterprise has established multiple public welfare organisations, created demonstration sites for women's domestic services entering communities, and helped numerous laid-off women and rural surplus labourers secure employment. To date, Wansao Domestic Service has trained nearly 90,000 domestic service personnel, served nearly 100,000 households, and facilitated employment for nearly 100,000 people. Under her guidance, Wansao Domestic Service has been approved as a national-level service industry standardisation pilot enterprise and a national high-tech enterprise, receiving honours including the National Women's Merit Collective, the All-China Federation of Trade Unions' Most Beautiful Domestic Service Enterprise, and Anhui Province Outstanding Domestic Service Enterprise.
DING Xiaomei is a student in the 2024 Autumn Business Administration undergraduate programme at the Open Education College of Anhui Open University. She currently serves as Chairwoman of Anhui Wansao Domestic Service Co., Ltd., Executive Committee Member of the 14th Anhui Provincial Women's Federation, and Delegate to the 13th and 14th Anhui Provincial Women's Congresses. She is also Vice President of the Anhui Women Entrepreneurs Association. Her honours include China Family Service Association Annual Advanced Worker, Anhui Provincial March 8th Red-Banner Holder, Anhui Province 4th "Star of Jianghuai" Outstanding Female Entrepreneur, and Hefei City March 8th Red-Banner Holder. In 2025, she led her team to win both the "Most Social Value Award" and the runner-up prize at the 2nd New Business Innovation Competition of the Open University of China.
