YU Ganqian is a member of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang (RCCK) and holds a postdoctoral degree in economics. He is a second-class professor, a member of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), President of Yunnan Open University, and Chairman of the RCCK Yunnan Provincial Committee. In 2007, he received the "National Culinary Education Achievement Award" by the China Cuisine Association.

In recent years, the deep integration of culture and tourism has drawn increasing attention. Tourism consumption has become an important force driving national economic development. YU recognises that "tourism is a happiness industry that stimulates consumption and expands investment, playing an increasingly vital role in achieving both effective improvement in quality and reasonable growth in quantity of national economic development."

Through field visits, research, and study, YU listens to public opinion and continuously refines his proposals. He discovered that Yunnan's plateau agriculture serves as a crucial lever for activating tourism innovation. He then conducted specialised research in Yunnan's four major coffee-producing regions, identified pain points in industrial development, and put forward concrete and feasible suggestions for bringing Yunnan coffee to the world.

Since assuming his position, YU has submitted eight proposals focusing on Yunnan's border-area industrial development and cross-border labour cooperation. During this year's Two Sessions, he will offer policy recommendations regarding seed industry innovation and technology empowerment. YU hoped that more people will connect with Yunnan through a cup of coffee. Those one-time visitors can be loyal customers, and eventually become long-term residents rooted in Yunnan.

YU stated that he will conscientiously fulfil his duties, focusing on national reform and development priorities to propose forward-looking, pragmatic, and effective policy recommendations. Through this process, he will contribute policy advice, build consensus, seek welfare for the people, and dedicate his efforts to the development of the culture and tourism industry.
