WANG Yucheng, a 2008 undergraduate Law student at Anji College, Zhejiang Open University, currently serves as a deputy to the 14th National People's Congress (NPC) and as a Standing Committee member of Tianhuangping Town, Anji County, Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province. He holds the position of a third-class Principal Staff Member and is the Party Branch Secretary and Director of Yucun Village Committee.

As early spring temperatures rise, Yucun Village in Anji, Zhejiang is swarming with visitors. Visitors from all directions sip "village-style coffee" amid green mountains and clear waters, enjoying scenic beauty as well as the poetry and modern vibrancy of rural life. Contrary to this leisurely atmosphere, WANG Yucheng, one of the busiest people in Yucun, immersed himself in listening to suggestions, inspecting projects, and receiving a steady stream of visitors.
From the day he became Secretary of the Yucun Village Party Branch, developing the village's lucid waters and lush mountains has constituted an essential part of his work. To attract young people to the countryside, WANG has leveraged the excellent ecological environment to vigorously promote the establishment of new business.
"Against the backdrop of intensifying employment pressure in cities, rural revitalisation faces a dilemma of talent shortage. Young people entering rural areas not only solve their own employment problems but also provide urgently needed talent for rural development, creating a favourable situation where supply and demand are precisely matched," WANG said. "In the past, young villagers preferred to leave; now the mountains and valleys have become their innovation parks."
Prior to the 2026 National Two Sessions, WANG has been rooted among youth groups, visiting households to collect public opinion, helping young people connect with resources, and engaging in candid conversations time and again to ensure their voices are heard.
In WANG's view, "youth entering rural areas" is not just the story of one village, but a "solution to the puzzle" for countless villages. To further improve supporting policies for "youth entering rural areas," it is necessary to strengthen public service provision, innovate talent cultivation systems, and optimise entrepreneurship platform support. These measures directly determine whether young people can "stay and thrive" in rural areas.
Thanks to "youth entering rural areas and empowering villages", Yucun Village has forged a new path to revitalise rural stock assets and increase income through integrated culture and tourism development. As a primary-level deputy to the NPC, WANG will always remember his original aspiration in fulfilling his duties, take on responsibilities in the journey toward comprehensive rural revitalisation, and better interpret the original mission of "deputies serving the people."
