DU Liqun, Zhuang ethnicity, a member of the Communist Party of China (CPC), is a member of the 13th and 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), and serves as Head Nurse and Chief Nurse of the AIDS Department at Nanning Fourth People's Hospital in Guangxi. She is also an outstanding student majoring in Administrative Management at Guangxi Open University (OU), enrolled in 2012.

DU has won over 50 honours and awards. These include “Advanced Individual in Creating Excellence in Work in the National Health Care System,” “National May 1st Labour Medal,” “National Model of Medical Ethics,” “National March 8th Red-Banner Holder,” “National Role Model for Ethnic Unity and Progress,” “National Exemplary Individual,” the “45th International Nightingale Medal Award,” the “Most Beautiful Doctor of China,” “National Outstanding Communist Party Member,” and “the National March 8th Red-Banner Pacesetter.”

DU's medical career began in 1984 when she was assigned to Nanning Fourth People's Hospital after graduating from Nanning Prefecture Health School. Since the first day of her career, she has resolved to relieve patients' suffering. Through rotations in tuberculosis, oncology, and hepatology departments, she accumulated extensive clinical nursing experience. Treating every patient like family members and patiently caring for their physical and emotional status, she is highly praised by her patients.

Serving as a member of the CPPCC fills DU with a profound sense of duty. In 2025, her proposal on expanding and improving "Internet Plus Nursing Services" was adopted and implemented by the National Health Commission, broadening service coverage and enhancing public satisfaction.

"Difficulties in Diagnosis, Medication, and Access to Care, like 'three mountains' have long weighed on rare disease patients," DU says. During her tenure, she has conducted in-depth research, listened widely to opinions, and carefully collected suggestions to help rare disease patients overcome their difficulties.

This year, DU is focusing on exploring cost compensation mechanisms for rare disease medications and building supply and guarantee networks for such drugs. Based on over a year of research, she has drafted proposals to bring to the Two Sessions in March.

"I will amplify my efforts, continuing to focus on healthcare and people's livelihoods, fulfilling my duty through CPPCC proposals, and writing my 'homework as a CPPCC member' with heart and soul," DU says.
