On June 26th of 2014, Provincial Party Committee Secretary of Zhejiang Xia Baolong visited the modern agricultural zone of Tiantai County in spite of the rain, and had a discussion with local growers. At the Jiuhuier ecological plantation belonging to Ge Lingteng, a peasant college student from Tiantai Radio and TV University (RTVU), Xia Baolong talked with Ge Lingteng side by side and praised him as “Grape Professor”.

Ge Lingteng reported to Xia Baolong on one concept and two kinds of technology employed at the Jiuhuier ecological plantation. In respect to the concept of planting grapes, the Jiuhuier ecological plantation pursues the principles of “ecology”, “safety”, “fine products”, and “efficiency”. In terms of vineyard technology, digitalized ecological elaborate cultivation and the technology for two harvests has been at the forefront of the domestic industry. Digitalized cultivation technology has received approval from the Department of Agriculture in the province and will be extended nationwide. Xia Baolong listened with great interest, even asking occasional questions. Their discussion began face to face, gradually changing to side by side, with Xia Baolong unknowingly drawing shoulder to shoulder with Ge Lingteng. Rain was pouring outside the tent, but the conversation inside was exciting. The allotted time for discussion grew from five minutes to fifteen minutes. By the end, Xia Baolong tapped the shoulder of Ge Lingteng and praised him as “Grape Professor”.

Ge Lingteng, an excellent peasant college graduate of the OUC and a national grape expert, a leader in rural farming development and the subsequent creation of wealth, created the Jiuhuier ecological plantation, covering an area of more than 1000 Mu, which generates good returns and high quality products. The value per Mu reached RMB 60,000 on average. The value of those which realized double harvests could reach above RMB 120,000. Local leaders have even praised him by saying that "he's not growing grapes, he's growing treasure."
