The former Vice President of the China Central Radio and TV University (CCRTVU), Professor Sun Lvyi, donated a total of 65 books of 15 varieties, which she had been collecting for dozens of years, to the Open University of China (OUC). The donation ceremony was held on the morning of March 10th in the Wukesong Campus of the OUC.
President Yang Zhijian and Vice President Zhang Hui attended the ceremony.
The books donated by professor Sun Lvyi include “The Twenty-five Dynastic Histories”, a collection of various editions and published by Shanghai Chinese Classics Publishing House, as well as some large books including the famous Song-Dynasty books “Ce Fu Yuan Gui”, “Wen Yuan Ying Hua”, and “Tai Ping Yu Lan” published by Zhong Hua Book Company, all in fine condition and of great value.
After earning a doctorate in literature from Northeast Normal University in 1986, Professor Sun Lvyi began teaching at CCRTVU, serving as Vice President and Director of the Academic Committee of the CCRTVU. She has deep feelings for the university and has a great interest in the library’s construction and development. She hopes that her book donation will allow these formerly private books to become more accessible to the public, providing teachers and students with better resources. She also hopes that her example will motivate more staff members to share their resources with teachers and students of the OUC by way of donation.
