In order to deepen the community education work of its “i-Lab”, the Ministry of Education Community Education Research Training Center (hereinafter referred to as “the center”) held a workshop at Tianjin “i-Calligraphy Lab” (Tianjin RTVU Calligraphy School) on May 21, 2013 to discuss the future of the lab.
Executive deputy director Zhou Yanjun asked the labs to actively contribute to the development of the “i-Experiment” project. The lab’s activities are conducive to deepening understanding of the meaning of community education and promoting the construction of learning communities. He also put forward the requirement that all labs strengthen cooperation and exchange, and learn from each other’s strong points to achieve joint progress. Zhou indicated that the center will summarize the experience of lab construction and prepare for the construction of an offline experience base for future labs.
The attendees inspected Tianjin RTVU’s “i-Calligraphy Lab”. Zhou Ming, assistant president of Tianjin RTVU, and Sun Xuerang, vice director of the “i-Calligraphy Lab”, introduced the lab’s creation, organizational structure, offline experience and expert team, as well as the progress of the “First National Exhibition of Community Calligraphy and Seal Cutting Work” project.
The directors of the i-Finance, i-Art, i-Sing and i-Scrap labs also exchanged their views on the construction of their respective labs.
The concept for the “i-Experiment” community education was put forward two years ago, with the aim of exploring a community education paradigm based on “improving your family life with both your head and your hand, and sharing public wisdom via online interaction”, in order to enrich the ideological content of community education and provide case studies for the exploration of a lifelong learning public service model. Six projects have already been launched: i-Scrap, i-Calligraphy, i-Sing, i-Art, i-Finance and i-Creative design.
