To further enhance the educational quality and promote standardised management of industry and corporate colleges, the Open University of China (OUC) held a kick-off meeting for special inspection of industry and corporate colleges on 4 September 2024.
The meeting was attended by Li Song, a member of the Party Committee and vice president of the OUC, along with key teaching staff, heads from teaching and management departments, and members of the special inspection working group, totaling over 50 participants. The meeting was chaired by Gu Xiaohua, director of the Academic Affairs Department.
Li Song pointed out that the establishment of industry and corporate colleges has played a significant role in cultivating skilled professionals for various industries and promoting the integration of industry and education. However, there remains substantial potential for improvement in terms of standardised management, quality of talent cultivation, and leveraging industry-specific characteristics. The special inspection aims to better assess their teaching service capabilities and standards of industry and corporate colleges, thereby driving high-quality development. By leveraging the traditional advantages of open education and extensively utilising high-quality social resources, OUC aims to better serve the cultivation of industry professionals.
Shen Juan, deputy director of the Academic Affairs Department, conducted a training session on the special inspection work, covering five aspects: inspection work arrangements, composition of inspection teams, checklist of inspection materials, interpretation of inspection indicators, and inspection work requirements. Hu Zhenhua, deputy director of the Discipline Inspection Office, introduced the disciplinary requirements for the special inspection work, while Zhang Huiguang from the Finance Department explained the financial requirements related to the special inspection.
