The Open University of China (OUC) once again received approval for a project under the Chinese Academic Works Translation Programme of the National Social Science Fund of China (NSSFC).

The project, submitted by Li Qi from the School of Foreign Languages, is titled "Financial Risks and Financial Regulation of the Belt and Road Initiative " (English edition), and has been awarded a grant of 300,000 yuan for the 2023-2024 period.

In 2022, Xiong Ying from the School of Foreign Languages was granted the first such project for the OUC, titled "Urban Spaces in Transition" (English edition), with funding of 400,000 yuan.

The consecutive approvals of these two projects for the OUC not only recognise the professional capabilities and comprehensive qualities of the open education faculty but also inspire more faculty to engage in high-quality academic research. This achievement reflects the high level of research strength, academic dissemination capabilities, and international exchange abilities of the OUC’s faculty.

The NSSFC's Chinese Academic Works Translation Programme primarily supports exceptional scholarly works that exemplify China's academic excellence, encapsulate the essence of Chinese culture, and represent the cutting edge of Chinese academic research. These works are translated into foreign languages and published by prestigious international publishing houses, reaching the global academic community through major distribution networks. This initiative fosters deeper academic exchange and dialogue between China and the world, bolstering China's international academic influence and discourse power, and facilitating cross-cultural understanding and mutual appreciation. The programme not only sharpens the faculty's skills in translation and cross-cultural communication but also enhances the university's overall academic standing and global prestige.
