The 2010 OUC scholarship review was completed recently. A total of 5,950 students were awarded scholarships, among whom 4,817 received the OUC scholarship, 535 received the "Field of Hope" Scholarship, 100 students received the IET-Sunshine Scholarship and 498 received the OUC Military Personnel Scholarship.

The 5,950 scholarship winners are distributed across 1,440 tutorial centres in 41 provincial RTVUs

and OUC faculties. They encompass 64 programmes, with 2,149 students in undergraduate programmes and 3801 students in diploma programmes. 424 students are ethnic minorities. Some of them excelled at independent study using scientific methodology with multimedia and online resources, obtaining outstanding grades despite difficulties involving work and family; some of them excelled at application, making great achievements in the workplace and winning prizes at national and provincial levels; some of them settled in rural areas and contributed selflessly to the prosperity of the rural communities; some of them were physically disabled but studied with passion, fighting their circumstances with knowledge; and some were military personnel improving their overall education and excelling in performing their military duties.

The scholarship appraisal programme greatly motivated the students to study more diligently and actively, and also helped to boost school spirit and promote a positive campus culture.
