On 13 May 2022, the Agroforestry and Medicine Sub-committee of the Academic Committee of the Open University of China (OUC) held an online forum for doctors entitled "How to Develop Research in Agroforestry and Medicine at Open Universities".

Director Lin Xiazhen and deputy director Li Jun of the Agroforestry and Medicine sub-committee, members of the sub-committee, and teachers from the OUC Agroforestry and Medicine majors attended. The forum was presided over by two members of the Academic Committee, Professors Lyu Chenzhong and Li Haiyu.

With reference to research by OUC teachers of Agroforestry and Medicine, eight young and middle-aged doctors from OUC headquarters and the Zhejiang, Hainan, Fujian, Hunan and Yunnan branches spoke of research-topic selection, the applications of research, its integration with teaching, research related to ideological and political education, and other topics.

The forum attracted over 650 teachers of Agroforestry and Medicine in the open university system and provided a platform for exchanges among them related to carrying out research, while helping promote construction of a teacher team.
