Open education altogether recruited 467,000 students in the spring of 2011, 130,000 to undergraduate programmes and 337,000 to diploma programmes. Enrolment has increased by 9% on last year and represents the largest number in the history of spring recruitment.
Spring recruitment of open education in the OUC was launched on December 3, 2010, involving 92 programmes (including 26 undergraduate programmes starting from the completion of diploma education, 48 diploma programmes and 18 the One-College-Student-for-One-Village Programme),
44 provincial radio and TV universities, OUC's Experimental School, Bayi School, Zongcan School, School for the Air Force, School of Tibet and School for the Disabled all joined the recruitment.
During the process of recruiting, the OUC strengthened advertising by publishing the General Regulations of 2011 Spring Enrolment and information on tutorial centers around the country on the official website of the OUC, the OUC Newsletter, and other media, and also intensified the process management, putting forward specific requirements on enrolment, registration and admission.
