Have you seen WIFI signs in public places such as cafés and restaurants?
Have you noticed people tapping away on their mobile phones on the subway and buses?
Do you know the famous saying “the furthest distance is when I am watching you but you are watching your cellphone”?
The success of the Internet in terms of fairness and social connections has changed the tide of traditional online education. Social media tools like QQ, blogs, forums, Weibo, and WeChat have gradually influenced users’ habits and learning styles. In the world of social media, users have become the real leaders of online education. At the same time, changes have been made to the ecological chain of online education thanks to the emergence of MOOCs and other forms of education, which has caused many top universities, Internet businesses, and educational institutions to follow the current of online education.
As online education managers, they are responsible for maintaining the sustainable development of online educational organizations. However, today’s business context is changing rapidly, posing new challenges for the current marketing rules so that the organizations have to face ongoing transitions, breakthroughs and growth. What should be done in response to these changes, in order to break through the current bottleneck and ultimately realize a smooth transformation?
Based on the philosophy of “understanding the online education market route, helping administrators to transform concepts and promote development, and realizing the sustainable development of online education organizations”, the OUC has set up a team of experts from research institutes, public institutions, and educational enterprises to develop the “Online Education Management” course, which is now open to learners on a regular basis. A learning community for the course is currently being established, and the course content and teaching model are being constantly updated according to the needs of the trainees.
Explanation of the Course System
Online Education Management introduces the concepts and methods of enterprise training, integrating knowledge of management, education, psychology, and sociology. The course is focused on the following topics:
This course presents brand new management ideas for online education administrators by raising questions that promote in-depth thinking and help them to transform current concepts so as to promote the sustainable development of online education.
Explanation of the Course Design
A good-quality course should possess pragmatic content that covers three levels: a far-sighted theoretical vision that lays a solid foundation for future work; ideas that can guide and direct the future work; and specific implementation methods that promote the theories and ideas.
Each unit of Online Education Management possesses all of the three conditions mentioned above: firstly, it displays related theoretical knowledge and then presents systematic ideas to solve the problem. Finally, it provides operational methods in accordance with related management ideas.
