In order to discuss the implementation of the “Notice about Collecting Units to Join in the Construction of such Specialties as Software Engineering” (OUC School of Software [2014] No. 2) issued by School of Software of The Open University of China (OUC), the OUC held the School of Software professional seminar on November 20th of 2014.
Deputy director of the OUC Academic Affairs Department Hu Lifeng, deputy director of the School of Engineering Yuan Wei, and vice president of the School of Software Qiu Qinlun attended the seminar. Leaders, specialists, and backbone teachers from the Academic Affairs Department and School of Engineering of the OUC were invited in the conference. Specialists from three educational institutions including Tarena Technology Group (Tarena Technology for short), Shengyang Neuedu Education Service Co., Ltd. (Shengyang Neuedu for short), and Qingdao Software Park HR Service Co., Ltd. (Qingdao Software Park for short) discussed five major specialties in software engineering, including Java, Internet marketing, e-commerce management, mobile development, and digital media art. The three educational institutions including Tarena Technology, Shengyang Neuedu, and Qingdao Software Park held discussions and expounded views on specialty definitions, training objectives and specifications, rules of curriculum setting, course description, course resources, and the current situation of relative majors in different educational institutions.
The seminar emphasized that, in order to implement the spirit of the National Vocational Education Working Conference and the “Decision about Accelerating Developing Modern Vocational Education by the State Council” ([2014] No. 19 issued by the State Council), the School of Software would adhere to the philosophy of “opening-up, cooperation, and win-win” to positively explore the cooperative mechanism and cooperative model in which social forces take part in school running and to duly carry out the pilot projects including “co-building specialties, co-building courses, and credit transfer”.
