On 20 July 2022, the Open University of China (OUC) held the seventh meeting of the third session of its Academic Degree Evaluation Committee via video conference. The meeting discussed issues related to degree granting for the 2022 spring term and decided to award 2341 graduates OUC bachelor’s degrees.

The meeting was presided over by Li Song, member of the Academic Degree Evaluation Committee, and attended by Guo Liyun and other members of the committee. A total of 2503 undergraduate graduates applied for bachelor degrees in the 2022 spring term, including students from 43 branches at the provincial level, as well as the OUC Experimental School, the School for the Disabled, the Bayi School, the School for the Air Force, the Jundun School, the School of Social Work, the Postal School, the School of Chemical Engineering, and the School of Metal Castings. The meeting considered issues related to degree awarding, including non-awarding reports submitted by the sub-committees.

Li Song stated two work requirements. First, problems should be clarified and feedback given to branch and thesis-guidance teachers; second, training should be given to the latter in relation to standardisation of dissertations, as well as to enhance their skills and professionalism.
