On 8 July 2022, the first council of the Education Foundation of the Open University of China (OUC) of Beijing held its second meeting. Attendees included all members, council supervisors, and foundation and university personnel.

Ju Chuanjin, council chair, presided over the meeting and briefly introduced the recent work of the foundation to the members and supervisors. Zheng Jie, foundation secretary general, reported to the council general regarding institutional development, fund-raising, planning for charitable projects, and so on.

The session approved foundation documents covering management of finances, projects, personnel and other areas, and discussed establishing charitable programmes related to “learner development” and “academic development”. It also voted to fund the online education project.

Ju Chuanjin pointed out that the foundation has completed registration and launched regular operations. Next, it should work to enhance regulations and systems, establish sound management, and work with stakeholders and use donations on behalf of expanding the fund. The foundation should support OUC operations in terms of learner development, academic development, campus construction, and so on.
