Despite the turmoils and whirlwinds of its one hundred years, the Communist Party of China (CPC) remains unshakable, and steadfast to its original ideals. In order to celebrate the centenary of its founding, learn from its extraordinary and glorious history, and encourage everyone at the university to work toward its development in the new era, on June 30 2021 the Open University of China (OUC) held a performance. Members of the OUC Party Committee and leadership team, Party members throughout the university, and all faculty watched it in person or online.

Beforehand, OUC Party secretary Jing Degang saluted the Party flag, raising his right fist, and led all OUC Party members in reviewing the oath they had taken upon joining. Liu Chen, deputy secretary of the Party committee, presided over this ceremony.

The performance presented the CPC's history and achievements in a variety of forms, including recitation, dance, singing and sketches, conveying the confidence of the OUC in its course of development. The actors expressed their trust in, loyalty to, and love of the Party with great passion, praising it, the motherland, the Chinese people, and their happy lives, and gaining enthusiastic applause from the audience.

Afterward, many of the faculty attending spoke of how the "pioneering", "creating" and "acting " spirit expressed in the performance inspired them to work toward the reform and development of the university in line with the original ideals of Communism, and make unremitting efforts to help realise the dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
