For the purpose of enhancing both individual teachers and their teams, the Faculty of Forestry and Medicine held a teaching-skills competition in March and April of 2021. The competitors prepared their teaching presentations from the end of March until 21 April, and presented on 22 April. Teachers above a certain level acted as judges, while Yu Caiyuan, Wang Yan, Zhao Xinsheng, Zhao Tingting and Cao Qinzheng were the competitors.
Faculty vice-dean Li Guang De presided over the session, and leaders from other faculties and departments were invited to comment, including Professor Tang Yingshan, dean of the Faculty of Humanities; Associate Professor Zhang Xia, vice-dean of the Faculty of Education; and associate professor Tian Suxia, deputy director of the Department of Student Affairs and Teachder Development.
The teachers competing prepared the content (including ideological and political material), styles, language, posture, and other facets of their presentations at length, and with excellent results.
The guest experts praised their strengths while also giving constructive advice.
Every teacher in the faculty watched the presentations, listened attentively to the experts, and agreed that such a teaching-skills competition is very helpful in uncovering weaknesses and clarifying goals.
High-quality teaching teams are essential for the OUC to maintain its high standards. The Faculty of Forestry and Medicine attaches great importance to the competition and has done considerable work to prepare for it, hoping that the passion of teachers for their work will be enhanced by it, and that the competitors will serve as models of teaching excellence.
