In order to thoroughly implement the spirit of the 2019 teaching work conference and the third plenary session of the School Affairs Committee of the Open University of China (OUC), strengthen discipline construction and the development of the Accounting and Finance majors, optimise teaching content, improve the quality of education, and exchange experiences and build consensus, from 27-28 November 2019, the OUC Faculty of Economics and Management held an annual meeting for the central teaching and research groups of the Accounting and Finance majors in Chengdu.
OUC vice president Yang Xiaotang and 32 members of the central teaching and research groups from related majors from the OUC headquarters and branches attended the meeting, which was presided over by Liu Zhifang, deputy director of the Department of Economic Management Education.
Xie Yuxin, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and president of the Chengdu Branch, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Yang Xiaotang introduced the current problems and measures that need to be taken in the process of OUC transformation. Liu Zhifang gave a report on the work progress of the Faculty of Economics and Management in terms of curriculum resources construction, online curriculum transformation, major plan adjustment, shared major construction, application for graduate programmes, teaching team operation, "1 + X" certificates, and talent training.
Huang Dafang from the Chengdu Branch, Li Fei from the Dalian Branch, Chen Chun from the Shenzhen Branch, Ge Yongzhi from Shandong Branch, and Chen Minju from the Zhejiang Branch exchanged views and shared their experiences from the perspectives of teaching team construction, ideological and political education in course teaching, and the construction of majors.
Members of the two central teaching and research groups for the Accounting and Finance majors discussed the construction of the majors, the reform of the curriculum system, and the development of ideological and political education in course teaching, as well as the application of graduate programmes for the Accounting and Finance majors.
