The integration of industry and teaching is a common concern for industry enterprises and universities. However, at present, industry-teaching integration is still largely spontaneous and at a low level. Both enterprises and colleges have found it hard to promote the process of industry-teaching integration.
For example, some enterprises are enthusiastic about the issue but the colleges cannot meet their demand, whereas some colleges always complain about the unstable enthusiasm of school-enterprise cooperation. In order to further promote the research and practice of industry-teaching integration and promote cooperation between schools and enterprises, the Chinese Society of Educational Development Strategy decided to establish a secondary institution, the Industry-Teaching Integration Special Committee (hereinafter referred to as the Special Committee).
The launch ceremony for the Special Committee was officially held on 10 May, which was also the occasion of the 2019 China Enterprise Learning and Professional Development Conference and the 5th China Enterprise College Annual Meeting.
Executive vice chairman and general secretary of the Chinese Society of Educational Development Strategy, Han Min; deputy Party secretary of the OUC, Liu Chen; Party secretary of the School of Continuing Education, Tsinghua University and general secretary of the University and Enterprise Continuing Education Alliance of the MOE, Diao Qingjun; deputy editor-in-chief of Distance Education in China and general secretary of the China Enterprise University Federation, Li Guiyun; former director of the International Division of the Chinese Society of Vocational and Technical Education, Gu Zhanchun; and vice chairman of the China Enterprise University Federation, Tian Kemei jointly launched the ceremony. More than 200 people, including well-known industry experts and scholars, industry enterprise managers, corporate HR heads, presidents of enterprise colleges, heads of continuing education schools of universities (Training Centres), vocational colleges, and training service agencies from around China witnessed this historical moment.
Taking the opportunity of the launch of the Special Committee, the "industry-teaching integration, school-enterprise cooperation" matching meeting was held on the occasion of the 2019 China Enterprise Learning and Talent Development Conference and the 5th China Enterprise College Annual Meeting.
Nearly 30 heads from the continuing education departments of colleges, online education colleges, corporate universities, and industry associations attended the matching meeting. The guests at the meeting extended their congratulations to the launch of the preparation work of the Special Committee and offered high praise for the Special Committee. They voiced their opinions on the future work of the Special Committee, what resources and technical support the various agencies can provide, and their hope for deeper cooperation between schools and enterprises.
At the matching meeting, the participants reached a preliminary consensus on and action plan for the follow-up cooperation, formulating the Proposal on Promoting the Common Development of Industry-Teaching Integration. Deputy editor-in-chief of Distance Education in China and general secretary of the China Enterprise University Federation, Li Guiyun, read the proposal on behalf of the participants.
Tsinghua University, Distance Education in China, and other important sponsors are mobilising various forces in the industry and education fields to participate in the preparation of the Special Committee. The Special Committee is designed to build a platform and long-term mechanism for industry-teaching integration and school-enterprise cooperation, promote the improvement of education quality and school-running level, and provide a guarantee for the successful transformation of enterprises and talent empowerment.
