From 10-11th May 2018, a seminar on teaching work in the civil engineering and hydraulic engineering majors was held in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province. Over 60 responsible personnel and teaches from branches with civil engineering and hydraulic engineering majors and those participated in an online teaching pilot attended the seminar.

The principal of the Department of Civil Engineering ,Faculty of Science and Engineering introduced developments in online core curriculum construction, online teaching team operation, and academic dissertation evaluation. Two teachers from the Jiangsu branch and the Xi’an branch gave statements on the topics “online teaching team construction” and “online core course application.” The teachers discussed teaching at their own schools and the development of teaching reform, and made proposals for the majors in terms of discipline development, professional development, course construction, resource construction, and teaching team construction.

Guo Hong, minster of the OUC Faculty of Science and Engineering gave a summary, introducing recent developments in the civil engineering and hydraulic engineering majors, current issues; the future direction of the work, which will take the construction of key majors as an entry point; addressing online core course construction and the building of online teaching teams; comprehensively boosting the construction of the “Six-Network Integration” personnel training model; and continuously improving the quality of talent cultivation.
