OUC Sino-German Joint Master’s Degree Programme Officially Launched

On 19th January 2018, the Open University of China (OUC) and the Beijing International Institute of Asia-Europe Education and Culture (AEEC Institute Beijing) signed an educational cooperative agreement, which signifies that the OUC Experimental School Sino-German Master’s Degree Programme is officially launched.

The Sino-German joint Master’s Degree Programme primarily targets enrolling prospective students with an undergraduate educational background and bachelor’s degree. After related training, students who meet the admission requirements will be sent to study on the programme at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg. The programme is jointly implemented by OUC Experimental School and AEEC Institute Beijing. During the implementation process, the OUC Experimental School will work with Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg to explore jointly developing related curriculum and teaching resources of the master’s degree programme.

OUC Vice President Liu Chen expresses his wishes that both sides should work together to develop well-designed majors and select the appropriate teaching content, as well as make localised adjustments on the courses to ensure the educational quality is according to the national general requirements for higher education in the new era. Liu Chen adds that the project has explored a learner development model for the OUC to cooperate with foreign higher education institutions, which exerts a leading and enlightening influence on the OUC’s future graduate education. Liu Chen wishes that both sides will give play into their respective advantages and work together to explore and develop a unique model for admissions, service, and teaching.
