On July 3, 2015, a major review meeting for the "Logistics Management Junior College Education (oriented in International Shipping)" of School of the Ocean, the Open University of China (OUC) was held at the OUC Qingdao Branch. Experts, after hearing the major construction report, concluded that the reconstruction of the major has met the requirements of the direction of a new specialty.
Experts pointed out that the target of the training for those majoring in logistics management (international shipping orientation) of the OUC School of the Ocean has met the requirements of training practical and skillful industrial workers for the logistics and international shipping industry. With regard to major positioning, it combined the features of the logistics industry and the shipping industry, highlighting module design, tailored services for enterprises as well as practices and field training. The curriculum construction stressed the features of integration of professional courses with post skills field training courses, which prominently reflected the course's lifelong learning concept design. In the aspect of information construction, it centred around the e-learning packages and micro-classes to carry out learning resources construction. Experts unitedly agree that the reconstruction of the major has met the requirements of the direction of a new specialty.
On the occasion of the first anniversary of the OUC School of the Ocean, Qingdao Branch will also launch a series of public education general courses to popularize marine studies for the masses and certificate training courses relating to entrepreneurship education, conduct related topic researches and make efforts to turn the School of the Ocean into a first-class professional school of the OUC.
