The list of 2019 Open University of China (OUC) Outstanding Graduates has been selected and 538 students have been honoured with the title.
Since the Notice on Launching the Selection of 2019 Outstanding Graduates was published in November 2019, OUC branches and their corresponding schools have been actively organising the selection and recommendation of graduates. A total of 540 candidates were recommended to the OUC headquarters. On 13 April 2020, the OUC arranged for experts to review the application materials submitted.
Following the expert review and publicity process, it was decided by the OUC headquarters that Zhang Ying and 537 other students would be awarded the title of 2019 OUC Outstanding Graduate.
The outstanding graduates selected for 2019 are studious, hard-working, have demonstrated exceptional academic performance, and have made essential contributions to their community. They come from all walks of life and represent a variety of professions, including grassroots workers, farmers, teachers, police officers, medical workers, and soldiers from frontier areas, as well as leaders and cadres from enterprises and public institutions. No matter their occupation or position, they have all contributed to society and deserve public recognition. Many of the graduates have already received honorary titles such as National May 1st Labour Medal, Most Beautiful Migrant Worker, National Most Beautiful Person, Model Worker, and Outstanding CPC Member.
The OUC hope that the students being commended will cherish and value this honour and take it as an incentive to work even harder in their future study and work and strive to make even greater achievements. It is hoped that other students will learn from the examples of the outstanding graduates and spare no efforts in aiming for higher goals and ideals in order to become high quality talents that can serve China.
