Professor Ma Li is the former dean of the Korean Department of Beijing International Studies University. Her main research direction is Korean language and teaching.

Her major academic publications include Teaching Practice and Thoughts for the Korean Language, Teaching Practice and the Development of Korean Dialogues, New Foundation Korean Listening, Hotel Management in Korean, 1000 Sentences for Practical Dialogues in Korean for Civil Aviation, and Famous Chinese Scenic Spots.
