Zhao Bingzhi, holder of a Law doctorate, specialised in Criminal Law at Renmin University of China, and graduated in 1987. He obtained his doctoral degree in March 1988, becoming the first Doctor of Criminal Law in New China.

He has edited and co-authored more than 100 books and published over 400 papers, winning many awards at the national, ministerial, and college and university levels. He has also led or participated in more than 20 national and ministerial-level scientific-research projects and cooperative-research projects with Hong Kong, Japan, France, and other territories or countries.

Professor Zhao has been teaching Criminal Jurisprudence at CCRTVU since 1992, serving as editor-in-chief of its textbook since 1999. He has also served as deputy editor-in-chief for Criminal Jurisprudence and editor-in-chief of Criminal Jurisprudence - a Supplementary Textbook, Criminal Jurisprudence, and Criminal Jurisprudence Reference Materials.
